This \"free\" version only prints checks with the word \"DEMO\" in large letters right across the middle of the check. It\'s totally useless and fraudulently advertised.

Using current version of VistaChecking an ISO image of 507 Mb. FSUM worked easily!

I was looking for a program, and still am, that would find the differences between files on a CD and what the operational files on the HD were. I found FSUM wasn\'t the solution. At least not the way I wanted. I tried \"winmerge\", which made the search even more of a \"needle\" in the pile. So I have to see if my problem is related to \"uncompliant\" files obtained after the initial install.

A very nice program Despite not having a gui this is pretty easy to use command line program.I found it to be very fast and efficient but then again I only used it to chech the crc from some files I downloaded not to create a crc list.

fsum review nothing bad about the app. i just dl'd before i knew how to use it. but i do think it could use a bit of revision to make it a god like open source product.I would really place more emphasis on the help menu. kinda make a general walk thru as best u can.

I wanted to test a couple of Patriot WARP III ssd in raid 0. At first on Ubuntu 8.10 they achieved an impressive 220 Mbytes read transfert rate. Now they come to a crawl and I need a tool to find what's wrong. As I don't bother installing SATA support on Windows XP, I intended to run Emsa under Wine. Useful for diagnosing CD errors I was having problems determining why I couldn't install MS Office on a recently rebuilt PC. With Emsa DiskCheck 1.0.77, I was able to determine that my installation CD was okay and that the drive itself was okay. I determined that the issue was the IDE cable. While Emsa DiskCheck did not diagnose the core problem (the cable), it did help me to pinpoint the issue much faster than if I had used other methods.

Emsa DiskCheck review First the PRO's: The interface is very nice, the feedback it provides is excellant and detailed. It is very easy to use, and will run in the main (operating) disk without rebooting. As on C: with XP is running. The CONs: There seems a number of areas for which it say's access denied, making me wonder how complete the "Check" actually is. Addtionally, It doesn't reset the chkdsk flag so I still get the message about run chkdsk c: /f - so I still can't run defrag. So I am still looking for a solution.

What does it mean? After downloading I installed and ran the program. It reported 1 error, 20+ can not access messages. I do not know what this means to me. If there is one error should I toss out my computer? Can not access means something. It may mean that the file is set as a hidden file or something else. The program downloaded okay and ran okay but gives me no idea what the results mean.

This software failed for me. It is free, thus probably doesn't see as much development as it should. I downloaded it for the sake of scanning and seeing what sort of errors would be reported, considering Windows had notified me that my hard drive was on the brink of failure. After downloading and scanning with CheckDrive, it reported that my hard drive was clean and working normally. It failed completely the very next day.

Looks nicer than Windows' built-in checkdisk utility, but that's all. Needs more development. Not worth the download.

good: but suspect drive needs cleaning and defrag messages... they reoccured in the red even after defrag and drive cleaned... surely they couln't have been that bad!

program will not work if pc does not have an internet connection. unlucky at that time i have no internet connection.so i remove it from my pc.

The download will not run. All that appears when I try to use the program is a Microsoft Error Report stating that CheckDrive has encountered a problem and cannot start.

Looks good, but have not got around to checking it out in detail as yet.

Good product As far as I can tell this is a very good product. It gives good visual feedback as to how much your website is up.
